Showcase what this prI’m trying to repurpose as I sculpt things, and these firefly creatures (of which there about ten total underway) are assembled with lots of Appalachian nuggets:
Fragments from stamp collections
Old radio tubes
Old furniture
A Duncan Imperial Glo-Yo
Glass from an amazing barn stash of vintage Wissmach West Virginia art glass, wings shaped by Julia!
Buttons from Mason jar and coffee can stashes (guarded jealously by grandmas all over the Blue Ridge, who frankly have to be dead before a scrounger like me could ever dream of taking possession, usually at the garage sale held by the family following Abuelita’s passing. Appalachian grannies save everything, including some of the buttons, beads and pretty stuff that their grannies had!)
Sunday church costume jewelry
A 78 RPM record which I am curious to understand how it survived the journey to Oregon…it is supposed to keep the firefly centered during shipping.
The LED-powered lamp plugs into any USB or the provided dealie-o.
